All students have a my.chattanoogastate.edu or student email account. This is the email account that the college uses to send official information to students. This is where the library sends overdue notices. To get to it you can login to TigerWeb and click on the blue paw print icon at the top right of your screen. When you click on the paw another login appears. To find out what your username is see the information in the New Student Email box under the row of icons at the top of the page.
The other email accounts are in eLearn. eLearn email is closed to outside email from public email services. The emails are from instructors and other classmates. This is the email account you should use to communicate and send things to your instructor and to other students for group projects in individual classes.

Why Do I See Different Emails in My eLearn Email on "My Home" email and My Individual eLearn Class Emails?
Click on the "email" link that appears on the blue toolbar on the opening page and in each individual online class you are taking in eLearn. When you do you will see a "Filter By" setting in each. You can set the "Filter By" setting in each class and on your main page to show "all messages" or "all course messages", or "messages by individual classes".
If your settings are different you will have some email messages appearing where others don't. Why would you want these options? Some people like to keep class email messages separated by classes when they are working so they don't get classmate messages confused. They set the opening "My Home" page with the "all Messages" to check all their messages for all online classes at one time.

I Don't See Any Email Messages When I Open My eLearn Email. Where Are They?
You are probably using a small monitor screen right now. Click and hold down on the top of the frame right above the words, "Message Preview" and drag the box edge down. When you click and hold the edge of the frame you should see a vertical double arrow telling you that the frame is adjustable. This will open the box up more so you can see the emails in your inbox. Click on the individual email subject link in blue to open the emails. Use the scroll bar to the right of the email window to scroll down and see more emails. There is also a scroll bar next to the Message Preview box you can use to view more of your individual message.
I Can Send E-Mail Using Classlist But Where Is the Inbox to Get Mail Sent From Classlist?
In the blue toolbar at the top left of your eLearn course web page there is a link called, email. Click it to find all emails sent within your courses from instructors and from CDE.
Where Can I Go to Get Help with eLearn?
There are several places online and on campus where you can get help with learning eLearn and other online courses. In the library the Help Desk and Reference Desk have handouts provided by CDE that will guide you through several questions. The handouts also have contact information on who to see for password problems, log-in problems or technical problems. The library staff regularly attends workshops on eLearn and we can help when you are in the library.
Upstairs in the IMC building above the library in the CDE office, you can find people to help you. If you are new or just need to refresh your online class skills, take an online learning orientation workshop. Check here at www.chattanoogastate.edu/cde for dates and times. These workshops are highly recommended for successful online class experiences.

The Quiz I'm Suppose to Take in eLearn Says I Can't Take It That the Time Is Up. Why?
It may be that you got the time and date for taking the quiz wrong. Double check your syllabus, checklist or course content for this. If you check and you are correct on the time and date...your instructor may have forgotten to change the date from the previous year. Look and see if the year in the date posted with the quiz has last year's date. If it does email your instructor and let him know nicely that he/she forgot to reset it. You may also want to check your eLearn email & classlist email to see if your instructor has already been informed about the quiz situation and if he/she has emailed you with an update on when the quiz will be available.
