I'd Like to Use a Video in PowerPoint. How Can I Convert It to Use It?

Some videos posted on the Internet or videos from our own video recording devices may not be compatible for embedding into a PowerPoint in its original file format. If you have been given permission to change the file format you can use Real Players newest version to convert the video to a .wmv or .mov to use in your educational PowerPoint.

Follow this link (http://www.real.com/realplayer/media-converter) to download the player or to view a short demo on the product. Real Player can also convert your videos to file formats that can be downloaded and played on iPods, iPhones and other mobile devices.

Please follow all copyright regulations and check permissions when using videos.

The Taylor Nursing Videos Aren't Playing on My Computer. What Can I Do to Fix This?

Having trouble viewing the videos, here are some things to check:

a) Are you using Internet Explorer? - videos best-viewed with this browser
b) Is a Windows Media Player installed? - check by opening list of
programs on your computer, should be near the end of the list.

Note: Just because a smaller box opens to play the videos does NOT mean that the player is installed on their computer. If you need to download a Windows Media Player go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/download/download.aspx

c) Do you have a strong Internet connection? - This may seem obvious but could be a possibility.
d) Is the popup blocker on? - this must be turned OFF in order for the separate window to open.
e) Are you on a MAC? Unfortunately, the videos are only formatted as .wmv files for Windows Media Viewing. We are trying to find a method for viewing these videos on MACS.
f) Are you using Internet Explorer 8, IE* IE8 doesn't work as well with videos
unless you go to Tools and Compatibility and allowed the videos.
