How To Save Files To A CD

Sometimes saving files can be a little tricky. Let's get started on how to do it.

1. Go to upper left hand corner of your application(Word, Excel,.....) and click on "FILE"
2. Scroll down to "SAVE AS"
3. In the "SAVE IN BOX" select "DESKTOP" (Easy Access)
4. "NAME" your file and click "SAVE"
5. "MINIMIZE" All applications to get to the desktop.
6. "RIGHT CLICK" on the file you just saved
7. Scroll down to "SEND TO" (Drop down box appears)
8. Scroll down to "CD-RW Drive (D) or (E) AND CLICK ON IT
9. At bottom right-hand corner you will see a balloon message "You have files waitimg to be written to the CD" Click on the "BALLOON"
10. Under "CD Writing Task "Click on "Write these files to CD"
11. Box appears saying " Welcome to the CD Writing Wizard, Click "NEXT" The green writing indicator bars should appear with the estimated time remaing
12. The CD will "EJECT" after the writing is finished, "PUSH" CD back into the drive
13. "Open " up the file on the CD to make sure that it is what you want.
14. "MINIMZE" All applications to get to desktop.
15. "DOUBLE CLICK" on my computer (Your saved document should be labelled with the name of the CD.
16. Make that this is what you want
17. "DELETE" the file you save off the desktop.

How Do I Register for Classes with Self-Service Registration in TigerWeb?



Student's view on how to register for classes.


  1. Go to chattanoogastate.edu homepage. Click on TigerWeb.

  2. Enter user I.D. (Student "A" Number on I.D.).

  3. Takes you to "Main Menu" click on Student.

  4. Click on Registration then click Look Up Classes.

  5. Click on the term you want and then click Submit.

  6. You will need to know what category your class in under (example: Anatomy/Physiology 1 is under Biology).

  7. Scroll through, choose the campus, the instructor (it you have a preference) otherwise select All, then click on Class Search.

  8. Scroll through and select your classes after each class click on Add to Worksheet.

  9. When finished click on Register then you will see all of the classes that you have chosen.

  10. Arrow back to Registration and click on Student Detailed Schedule.

  11. Print out your schedule and do not forget to Confirm your classes (otherwise your classes will be stripped). I hope that this will help. Have a good semester.

How To Confirm Your Classes
Confirming your classes is very important. If you do not confirm your classes the classes will be stripped and you will have to start all over again. This creates a problem because the classes you need could possible be filled. So let's get started on how to confirm your classes.

1. Go to chattanoogastate.edu website and click on TigerWeb.
2. Put in your "USER ID" (This is your "A Number" or first time users this will be your "Social Security Number")
3. Then put in your "PIN NUMBER" (6 digit number that you made up/ first time users this is your "BIRTH DATE"(Example: 012390)
4. "LOG IN"
5. This takes you to the "MAIN MENU" Click on "STUDENT"
6. Then click "STUDENT ACCOUNT"
7. Then click "ACCOUNT DETAIL FOR TERM"
8. Select a term (Example: Fall Credit 2008)
9. Then click on "SUBMIT"
10. Under the heading "Please Confirm Your Classes" Click on ("Yes,I will attend during Fall Credit Term 2008" or No,...............)
11. If you have successfully confirmed your classes you should receive a "CONFIRMATION NUMBER"
12. PLEASE PRINT your Confirmation Number for your "RECORDS" (THIS WILL PROVE THAT YOU DID TRULY CONFIRM YOUR CLASSES/ AND IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT.)

1. To print, click File, scroll down and click Print, when the Print Box opens click Print.

To Print class schedule, Open Library web page, click Registration, enter User ID (student ID number) and PIN, click Login, click on Student and Financial Aid, click Registration, click Student Detail Schedule, click the drop down arrow and select the term you wish to view, click Submit, click File, click Print, when the Print Box opens click Print.
7. The Printers in the Library do not print in color, but if you need your document in color, go to Print Shop Omniplex Room 161 (across from the Chemistry Labs), bring in hard copy, CD, or Flash Drive (PDF or Office Format) there will be a charge.
8. To print PowerPoint handouts, click the Microsoft Office button in the upper left corner of your presentation, move curser down to Print, click Print, when the print box opens, click the down arrow box under (Print what:), click Handouts, Select how many slides per page by clicking the down arrow box beside (Slides per page:), Select a number then click OK.
9. To Print an Excel worksheet click on the Microsoft Office button in the upper left corner, scroll down to print, click, and the print box will open, click OK.
10. If the Excel worksheet is too large to print on one page, then you would need to add page breaks, open the Excel spreadsheet, Specify where a new page will begin in the printed copy. Page breaks are inserted above and to the left of the selection, click the tab on the ribbon Page Layout, click Breaks, click Insert Page Break, click the Microsoft Office button in the upper left corner, click Print, and click OK.
11. To print in landscape, click the Microsoft Office button in upper left corner, scroll down, click Print, and the print box will open, click Properties or (Preferences), click the Finishing tab, in the orientation box, click Landscape, and then click OK.
12. In order to print from a laptop, first save the document to a floppy disk, CD, or flashdrive then go to library computer to print.
