To Those Using
iPads/iPhones/iPodTouches:
"The
new iOS 7 upgrade for the iPad/iPhone/iPodTouches arrived today. If you
are concerned about the upgrade process, or if you simply want to know all your
setup options before making the big switch, here is the latest information for
determining if you and your device are ready.
What is the iOS7 upgrade and how to upgrade to iOS 7: http://www.macworld.com/article/2048720/how-to-upgrade-to-ios-7.html
It is also suggested
that you make a backup of your device before
updating.
Here are a few things to
consider before the upgrade:
·
Anything below a 5, 5C or 5S
may experience slowness in operations after the upgrade. The processing
really does change your experience.
·
When updating, avoid the OTA (Over the Air)
update (connect to your computer using iTunes) and do it through your direct
plugin with iTunes to save yourself a couple of restarts.
·
Also, the pulsing of the
“slide to lock” makes it hard to read on some backgrounds so it may take you a
bit to get used to it.
·
The icons and other buttons
are hard to see on more complex backgrounds and so far there is no way to
change the color of the outline of the keys for your passcode etc. So you
will be squinting a lot if you do not change your background.
·
The Trash on your email looks
more like a Surface/Outlook Mobile so be warned the RED means Trash.
·
It looks like you can invert
colors in Accessibility for better readability…but be warned, it is “Festive.”
Some apps may not
function or be up to par yet see this:
Also here are the
top new features you may miss:
Keep in mind that
currently AirDrop will not work with your desktop or laptop, only other mobile
devices with iOS7. You may see this change with Maverick when the
desktop/laptops update.
I hope this helps with your
decision.
